Step-by-step guide to making Finder sort by type with folders at the top in Lion

I have always liked the Windows way of sorting files by Type, where folders are always at the top of the file structure, as shown in the above image.

The same can be achieved in Mac OS X with a bit of hacking, as demonstrated in this forum post. However, Apple have changed some things around in Lion, and this now requires a few additional steps, which I will outline as follows:

Mac OS X Lion's New Scrolling Feature
With Lion, Apple introduced this new scrolling feature that has caused quite a stir among users on various websites, such as NotebookReview. Many reviewers have called it controversial, while others have called it an innovation.

In my opinion, this change (which is totally changeable) totally depends on how you look at the functionality of a scroll wheel:

Some Downtime
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Ok, the site was down for a while in the past 2 days due to database issues, but Godaddy (my host) pulled through for me and now it's back! Part of the downtime is caused by an upgrade to the database for the new version of the site, which is coming along nicely, but probably won't be done before the end of my New Year break (3rd).

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya review

A Christmas movie review on Christmas day. Granted, this movie is excellent and fits very well with the Christmas spirit in my opinion. The review can be found here, and yes, I am still working on the new website and will hopefully get it finished.

Occult Academy Review!

Don't worry, I'm still working on the new website. I'm just adding a new review which I happen to have finished.

Occult Academy is an anime which sadly turned into a disappointment. The review can be found here.

Update on future updates!
Hey, I'm working on redesigning the entire website from old school HTML+CSS to JSP using the ZK framework from ZKoss.

As a result, I'll be doing minimal updates since I'll be very busy with work and whatnot. I hope to have the new site done over my short Christmas break, but I probably wont, so it might not be up until sometime next year.

K-On!! and Only Yesterday reviews!

Double whammy this time, KyoAni's K-On!! and Ghibli's Only Yesterday reviews.

In other news, I popped down the MCM Expo in London this weekend, and bought a few new figurines and took a lot of photos. I might "blog" about them here, but it'll depend on how much spare time I have.

About
I'm Buddy (a.k.a. Budding), and I made this website to serve as a resource for all my works and discoveries, as well as guides and tutorials.

History:
The construction for the first version of this website started in November 2008, when Imperial College London stopped hosting my previous one written in PHP. The website was wholly written by me in ASP.NET C#, and went live in February 2009.

Almost three years later, I decided it was time for a revamp and began developing the current version of this website in December 2010, using ASP.NET C# with AJAX. It went live on XXXX

Me:
I can be found on deviantArt (Vector Artist), NotebookReview.com (Super Moderator & Reviewer), DesktopReview.com (Moderator), AnimeNFO (Top 10 Reviewer), iTunes Connect (iPhone Developer), as well as LinkedIn.

You can contact me at archemis@gmail.com. I aim to reply within 24 hours.
